August 28 Fishing Report
back to Adventure North Resort’s home page
This week we have had large groups fishing for a variety of species. Fishing pressure on the lake has relaxed with fewer boats on the water. Enjoy the clear crisp late summer weather and the solitude of the up north. We are centrally located on Pine Point of Leech Lake, making it easy to get around the large lake with out burning a lot of gas. Looking forward to your visit - Steve Krogen, owner.
- Walleye - Over two dozen keepers in one day coming in from Agency Bay. Our guests only had to throw back a few that were in the slot limit (18″ to 26″, four bag limit one allowed over 26″). If you want to go for the trophy walleye to catch and release the Meadows and Hardwoods is the place to be. Guests are fishing with jigs and fatheads in about 10 to 15 feet of water.
- Jumbo Perch - if you have been waiting all year to come up and hit the jumbo perch now is the time. This week we have groups bringing in their daily limit (20 in possession) and keeping only the 10 inch plus size perch.
- Northern Pike - Guests are finding northern in the shallows of the Walker Narrows and Sucker Bay brining in 25 - 29 inch, 4.5 to 7 ponders. That’s a fun fight landing large northern in the boat.
- Muskie - Guests are starting to get ready for the tournament September 4 - 7 on Leech Lake. We still have a couple cabins open. Sucker and Portage Bays have produced a couple of 50″ for our seasonal guests, although mostly follows have been seen. Still waiting for it to break wide open.
